This course is designed to bring awareness to participants of the long term effects of untreated mental illness on our lives, and our communities, and to dispel myths and stigmas associated with mental illness in an effort to better shape as well as save lives. 

By the end of this course the participant will know:

Course 2- School Mental Health Training Topics 
This course is designed to bring awareness of the vast mental health challenges surrounding youth, in an effort to reduce feelings of hopelessness and apathy associated with the social, and mental health issues students are faced with in today’s society.

By the end of this course the participant will understand:
* Comprehensive Approaches to School Mental Health
* How to Help Students Cope with Depression and Suicide 
* How to Help Students Cope with Disruptive Behaviors: ADHD and Conduct Disorders 
* How to Help Students Cope with Substance Abuse 
* How to Recognize Eating Disorders 
* How to Recognize Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders 
* Emotional Effects of Adolescent Pregnancy 
* Emotional Effects of HIV/AIDS 
* Mental Health Problems Associated with Chronic Diseases and Psychosomatic Illnesses

Course 3- Geriatric Mental Health Training Topics
This course is designed to give the participant an awareness of the behaviors associated with geriatric mental illness in an effort to establish sensitivity and understanding for those providing care for geriatric citizens.

By the end of this course the participant will know:
* The effects of mental illness in long term care 
* How to Effectively Communication with Adults in Long Term Care
* How to Recognize Depression
* How to Recognize Bipolar and Schizophrenia 
     Common Behavioral Problems
     Understanding and responding to associated behaviors
* How to Recognize Alzheimer’s and Dementia
     Common Behavioral Problems 
     Understanding and responding to associated behaviors  
* Sensitivity basics: Assertiveness vs. Combative and retaliating
* How to Recognize and Reduce Transference 


Course 4- Effective Listening Skills
This course is designed to teach the participant the importance of being an effective communicator, by learning how to listen in an effort to improve and ultimately save lives. 

By the end of this course the participant will understand:
* What is Listening
* The Difference in Listening and Hearing
* How to be an Active Listener
     The 2 General Listening Types
     The 3 Most Specific Listening Types
* How to Listen Without Judgment
* How to Listen to Non-Verbals
* Common Barriers to Listening
* How Effective Listening Can Save Lives
